Yesterday I met with my newest clients - John Williams, Kevin Godfree, Paul Creighton & David Jansen (absent). These guys are attempting to crack the current Guinness World Record for doubles tennis.
Currently the record sits at 50 hours and 8 seconds, and on Labour weekend these 4 keen players are attempting to smash it. The guys will be allowed a 5 minute break per hour and will play as per US Open rules.
The guys are using the attempt to help raise funds for resurfacing the squash & tennis courts at the Hamilton Tennis & Squash club. The courts are looking a little bit over-loved and in need of a spruce up! $100,000 is needed to achieve this goal. The guys are going to be working hard for the money for 50 hours, so yours or your business sponsorship would be greatly appreciated! Phone 021 454 898 if you can help!
I was fortunate enough to be contacted by the team asking for assistance with nutrition during this ultra-tennis event. I must say, I am very excited about the event and stoked that the guys found me!! We went through the sports nutrition plan yesterday and today was the first long practice session of 10 hours. This was the team's first chance to start practicing what they might be eating on the day, at what times and in which quantities.
I snapped a wee pic of the team, unfortunately David was absent, but from left to right we have Kevin, Paul and Johnny.
I look forward to the next few weeks working with the guys to perfect their nutrition strategy on the day. I hope you all can come and support also - Labour Weekend, 22nd October 10am start.
